All of these sorts of things make me believe that the utopian society has no sex. All I mean is that everyone is without any kind of sex-drive. I heard a communist once argue this in some respect. He believed that the utopian society would edit out people's sex-drive by putting something in the water. If you keep up on your science news you'll know that he wasn't being that unreal. It's a very realistic option. Now what the hell would you do with a bunch of people who get no sex? I'll answer that by saying, WORK LIKE HELL. It is likely that love would probably be replaced by a passion for work or whatever you'd like to call it. What's the point of mentioning any of this? I'll say because people seem so interested in a person's sexuality these days. It's bloody degrading! Everyone has to want sex from something or they're considered FREAKY. Having sex with lots of women shouldn't be a factor, but it sure seems like it is these days in order to be considered a real man. The only real MAN I can think of is one who has honor, pride, good judgement, and can stand alone for what they believe in. I'm not a very religious person, so don't get that impression. My ideas are better related to that of Buddhists, Communists/Socialists, Futurists, and Transhumanists.

Those of us with an interest in living much longer, healthier lives often hear that our goal is "unnatural" and therefore somehow bad - how does this specious argument survive for in a world largely "unnatural" by the same criteria? Clearly deeper motivations are at work: "If technology is used to alter facts relating to these, such as by allowing for conception and birth without sex, or by promising us biological immortality, many people will feel that their sense of leading meaningful lives is threatened ... They are likely to express this sense by claiming that 'nature' is being interfered with - here, 'nature' is equated with whatever is seen in their particular culture as basic background conditions to human life."

I don't know about other people but I think Starbucks is way off target right now. To begin with "Hear Music" is junk. The most recent hip song I've heard at a Starbucks was "Dice." If that's not sad I don't know what is. I'm not saying that it's a bad song but why is it the only one I can remember. The company is way out of tune with their customers. Here is a quote from Fast Company magazine, "Its cafes attract young, affluent, tech-savvy customers." Tech-savvy customers don't listen to funeral music. Where is the techno music and hip stuff? Not only that but what's with charging the customer for internet access? That sucks. If Starbucks wants to offer music they better team up with somebody whose got the brains to make it work. A new company called MusicGremlin might be a better way for them to actually make it work if they're really being serious.
